They are:<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Community Creativity<\/h2>\n<p>In the digital world, communities are taking niche passions and uniting around a common interest, turning them into larger, shared experiences.<\/p>\n<p>YouTube has become a key framework for these internet communities to create and expand, making <strong>communities and their creators<\/strong> the primary way we understand pop culture.<\/p>\n<p>According to YouTube, fandoms are one of the most powerful forms of community, where 61% of Gen Z describe themselves as super fans of something or someone. These fan communities used to be a side effect of entertainment, but today they are the center of that experience. As is the case with <a href=\"https:\/\/kpop.fandom.com\/wiki\/Main_Page\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">K-Pop fandoms<\/a>, with a legion of dedicated fans and billions of views distributed on YouTube channels dedicated to this exponentially growing community.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creativity in multiple formats<\/h2>\n<p>Trends are appearing on a wider variety of media and formats. An example of this is the growing rise of <a href=\"https:\/\/pingback.com\/en\/resources\/short-form-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">short-form video<\/a>, which has led to the emergence of creators in various formats in order to capitalize on major trends and reach new audiences.<\/p>\n<p>Videos are breaking through the limitation of having only one successful format. Cultural phenomena flow freely between the short and the long form. This is proven when <strong>59% of Gen Z use short-form video apps<\/strong> to discover things they can later watch in the longer versions.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone who&#8217;s spent time scrolling can tell you: formats morph quickly. What might be a hot meme template one week can fade in days, replaced by something totally new\u2014or sometimes by a remix of the old favorite, tweaked just enough to feel fresh. It feels a little chaotic, honestly, but also sort of fun, like you\u2019re always on your toes and never sure what new thing might bubble up next.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, hybrid creators feel comfortable creating different media and use this to their advantage to increase and strengthen their engagement with the audience. So it&#8217;s very likely that these hybrid creators and continually remixed trends will become the new norm.<\/p>\n<p>This flexibility also creates space for a wider range of voices, not just the big names. You\u2019ll see micro-creators experimenting with new formats or mashing up styles, sometimes catching a wave before anyone else. And occasionally, formats that seem totally random\u2014like lo-fi videos where nothing really happens\u2014find their own audience, quietly racking up millions of views without any hype.<\/p>\n<p>Besides videos, another popular way to produce and consume remixable content these days is through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/01\/26\/crosswords\/what-is-a-meme.html\">memes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>63% of Gen Z followed one or more meme accounts in the last 12 months.<\/li>\n<li>57% of Gen Z agree they like it when brands participate in memes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This format is a highly interactive cultural expression that can provide diverse and creative content productions.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Responsive Creativity<\/h2>\n<p>Responsive creativity refers to the tendency to create and consume content to meet psychological and <a href=\"https:\/\/pingback.com\/en\/resources\/emotional-marketing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">emotional needs<\/a>. YouTube noticed that people were turning to videos that address specific personal needs, such as relaxing content formats and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vox.com\/2015\/7\/15\/8965393\/asmr-video-youtube-autonomous-sensory-meridian-response\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ASMR<\/a>, which have become increasingly popular during the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, <strong>83% of Gen Z used YouTube to watch content that helped them relax<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>These \u201ccomfort creators\u201d are a recent phenomenon where audiences identify creators whose familiarity offers them comfort. 69% of Gen Z agree that they often find themselves watching creators or content that they find comforting, and 82% have used YouTube to watch content that made them feel nostalgic.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">You can also find comfort in horror content\u2026<\/h3>\n<p>That&#8217;s what <strong>53% of Gen Z agree on<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p>It may seem contradictory, but for a part of this generation, horror content serves as a kind of \u201cointment\u201d for anxiety and trauma, as well as the calming content for another portion of these young people.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In summary, the future of creativity will be:<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Where there is dialogue with digital communities;<\/li>\n<li>Fluidly distributed in different formats;<\/li>\n<li>And that responds directly to the needs of the public.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Therefore, the depth and personalization of content will be increasingly relevant and decisive for the success of a brand.
